Big Rag is rattled "It's City isn't it ! " Old Purple Konk has a spat.
I love it when he throws his toys out - just love it !!
Apparently all we can talk about is Manchester U****d, I reckon the purple konked one has lost the plot, just shows you what one poster can do to get the rags rattled.
It is OK to display an antagonistic sign about their neighbours from Manchester at the swamp, but if we put up a simple poster welcoming people to OUR CITY, then boy oh boy are we the arrogant ones.
I think it's time to hang up your Whisky bottle purple konk and retire, keep up with the part time job at Christmas pulling the sleigh.

ole purple nose - Tevez not worth 25 mil
Here is the statement released by un***d on June 20.
“The club agreed to pay the option price of £25.5m and offered Carlos a five-year contract which would have made him one of its highest paid players. Disappointingly, however, his advisors informed the club that, despite the success he has enjoyed during one of the club’s most successful periods, he does not wish to continue playing for Manchester United.”
Geez, so is he worth 25 mill or not, I wish they would make their minds up.............
As far as I am concerned its all a bit of the green eyed monster, he is certainly worth 25 mill to us,
who cares what they think, purple nosed or green eyed.

Adebayor is the latest edition as we all expected.
Welcome to our latest addition to the striking team - Emanuel Adebayor, I must say this is the biggest surprise of all, definitely not expected. If he can capture his goalscoring form of a couple of seasons ago I am sure we will all be very happy.
The Toffee men are apparently sticking it out for City money, your know lets see how much we can screw out of them before we part with Lescott and everyone at Chelski is talking up John Terry's staying at Stamford Bridge. Me, I still reckon we will get both of these before the window closes if not before the start of the season.
I expect we all watched the 2nd eleven, of the best part of it, play Orlando Pirates yesterday, not much excitement to be had from either team, next game Tuesday night.

Adebayor, has he or hasn't he ?
I have been reading a couple of different reports, one where Adebayor has flown to Manchester today to complete the signing, one that he has already signed subject to a medical and one where he is on the verge of signing for our cockney neighbours !! who knows which one if any has some truth in it.
Hopefully Lescott will hand in his notice soon and we can get him signed up, I still believe we will see John Terry at Eastlands before the end of the window.
I am hoping to see some of the new boys in action today in South Africa, not sure what the team is yet but I guess there will be quite a number of players given a run out.

City's attempts to sign Adebayor will set panic into the 'Big Four' after the club completed the arrival of Argentine ace Carlos Tevez.
Things appear to be moving pretty quickly as The Daily Mail reports Adebayor has passed a medical, Arsenal are said to have accepted a fee of 25m and the Togo International is set to sign a five year deal.
I wonder what Craig Bellamy and RSC are thinking, I realise we do need a bigger squad with the ability to rotate strikers but these players are all of the type that would walk into any EPL side and you would think they will not want to settle for bench warmers spots !
Now we wait for more news on when the new defence will arrive.
I cant wait for the start of the season, looking forward and hoping for a sneek peek at some of the new boys at weekend in South Africa.
There are a couple of live feeds out there to watch the game.

Carlos Tevez from Rags to Riches !
City have called a press conference for 2pm today at which they will unveil the Argentinian signing, Tevez will join his new team mates on the trip to South Africa.
It would be very nice to see Adebayor or even John Terry rolled out at the same press conference, though lets not be too greedy, one superstar snatched from the jaws of one of the "big four" is enough for one day.
It is worth watching the video of 'The Purple Nosed One' ranting and raving that City and Real are ruining football and the fact that he can't buy any players due to the inflated transfers fees.

Tevez deal near enough done.
SSN reports that Tevez representatives in discussions with City and the deal could be finalised before end of the day.
Many more rumours about today, the strongest one (after the John Terry experience) is a new one on me, it is that we are in negotiations with Arsenal to sign Adebayor ! that would be a turn up, not sure if I am in favour or not but then again I have much trust in Mark Hughes and feel Adebayor must fit in with the plan or he would not consider him.
Other rumours are Puyol, Trezueget, Fabiano, Bruno Alves, Uncle Tom Cobbly.

The John Terry Foundation
Well the rumours of JT to City grows stronger by the day, If he has really asked for permission to talk to City then I reckon he will be with us before the season starts. Lots of other rumours also out there, appatently 'Kun' Aguero would consider City or Chelski, Alex Song of Arsenal is the subject of a bid and Lescott is still targeted.
Would be nice to see Terry and Lescott playing together, add Tevez and hopefully one more striker and that would just about do I reckon, for now anyway !

City pull plug on Eto'o deal
Although disappointed we will not have one of the worlds best strikers in our squad I also feel it is in our best interest as he obviously is not 100% convinced City is right for him otherwise he would have jumped at the chance. We will all have to guess now who attention will turn to, Forlan, Love, Ribery, Villa, Souza?

Patients Patients
Not sure if I can take much more of this waiting and checking the Newsnow site over and over every couple of minutes but then again it is still early in the window, I think the quick signing of Gareth Barry has made me a bit greedy and expect more signings every week.

The JT to CT wheel is still turning !
Well it is still grabbing the headlines and nothing from JT to say he is not interested, what could be could be.

Still all quiet from Eastlands
Jo back to Everton on loan has just popped up, I would have thought that would be held back to have some sort of inclusion in any deal for Lescott which again I would imagine would not be finalised until after the JT to City saga has ended, unless we will get Lescott and Terry, what about that an all English International back four - Richards (or steady Neddy)- Terry - Lescott - Bridge.
Mad Harry seems to be looking at Bellamy, personally I was not impressed when we bought him but the few games he did play he was always a threat, that said I am not sure where he can fit in if we secure Tevez and Eto'o, so it is possible he might be traded in.

JT or not JT that is the question !
Whilst it appears Ancelloti wants to keep JT at the Bridge, it still remains JT himself has not come out and spoken negatively about the offers tabled by City, this to my mind still leaves the door ajar, City must have had a sniff that JT may be ready for a change, a new challenge, maybe he is going stale at Chelsea after so many years and so many managers of late. I suppose I am also trying to convince myself that we have a chance of getting what must be the highest profile English player. What a difference a couple of years, oh and a couple of quid makes.

World Cup Qualifiers
Great result for England in Almaty, I thought Gareth Barry had a great second half, and first half was in the right place at the right time to score the first. Unfortunately a booking means he will miss Wednesdays match.
Robinho was fairly quite for Brazil, his mate Elano laid on two of Brazil's 4 in Uruguay before he was substituted towards the end.
Nigel De Jong scored his first ever goal for The Netherlands in their win over Iceland, they have now qualified for the finals.
Well done Australia in qualifying for South Africa with a 0-0 draw in Qatar.

Barry, the first of many.
I could not have been more surprised when we moved so quickly in the transfer market to secure Gareth Barry, I was not expecting any action until July but I am not complaining, a quality signing, an international midfielder with a great deal of PL experience is just what the doctor ordered.
Now the rumor mill is in full swing and if we believe the strongest rumours then Carlos Tevez and Samuel Eto may soon follow Barry to Eastlands, fingers crossed on both counts.

Transfer Gossip
So the season over now the building for next season should begin, who will we sign? who wont we sign? I'd be interested to here your thoughts hopes or prayers on that subject. Whoever we do end up signing between now and the end of August we will of course if you believe what you read in the papers or on the net have made an approach to almost every top side in Europe for one or more of their players. I for one will be glued to the internet watching developments hoping for that big name signing or two or three. Wouldn't it be nice !

City 1 Sunderland 0
Well, my internet connection, or maybe it was the server of the site I was watching the game on, was pretty poor and kept dropping out every 2 minutes or so, I was not able to fully focus on the game, from what I did see we deserved the 3 points but did not put away our chances again. That penalty miss will be shown the world over again and again, Elano should have grabbed the ball and taken it but then again Robinho was confident enough and should have put it away. I thought Richards looked like his old self going forward and using his pace more than he has of late.
We missed Superman, who would have thought I would every say that !!, but it's true most of our good atacking options come through Ireland, Player of the season by a country mile.
Hoping to see Martin Petrov back in the squad soon which will give us another good attacking option.

City 2 Villa 0
Great result, several outstanding performers - SWP, Elano was near his best, still think he needs to muscle up though and stop lashing out like he does when he looses the ball, Richard Dunne and Neddy both turned in colossal performances to snuff out the Villa attack, Zabaletta did very well and makes me feel more comfortable with him there at right back, DeJong was back at the top of his game in the first half and how we missed him when he went off just after half time.
All in all a very good performance with out our so called top stars. If we can reach this standard with some consistency we would be in a much better position and probably somewhere near where Villa currently sit.

City 1 Liverpool 1
Well 1 point is better than non, I thought we put up a creditable display especially in the 2nd half, DeJong had a great game as did Ireland both of them breaking up the play in Midfield, Robinho made more of a contribution also and look the top class player he is at times. Kompany, who was lucky to stay on the pitch, was also outstanding, all in all a much improved performance which left me a little dissapointed at the end that we did not steal a victory, but will not put the lads down they gave a good account and every one of them put in a big effort. Lets hope they gain some confidence from this and continue improving. I am starting to believe in Bellamy, he is very persistant and gives +100%.

Unpredicatable City could end Scouse title hopes
Well after a topsy turvey week, letting Pompey sneek up and beat us without so much as a decent fight from the world richest club then letting a first away win since Schalke slip through our fingers we could just turn up an Anfield tomorrow and come up with a result, we are due a win away and at Anfield also.
I reckon this is it folks, but then again that's me ever the pessimist that usually gets belted in the face with the result, but not this time, not tomorrow, I can feel some success coming on.
An exciting day tomorrow, first up I will be attending a Simply Red concert in the evening, I might even wear my City shirt and see if Mick spots me and has anything to say, then back home for the 1am kick off from Anfield.
