Here is the statement released by un***d on June 20.

“The club agreed to pay the option price of £25.5m and offered Carlos a five-year contract which would have made him one of its highest paid players. Geez, so is he worth 25 mill or not, I wish they would make their minds up.............

As far as I am concerned its all a bit of the green eyed monster, he is certainly worth 25 mill to us,
who cares what they think, purple nosed or green eyed.
